  • Am a member of DEKRA Certification’s Committee to Preserve Impartiality for ISO 14001 and ISO 50001.
  • Am a member of the Pennsylvania Association of Environmental Professionals (PAEP).
  • Am a member of the Society of Manufacturing Engineers and am active in its local chapter.
  • Am a member of the Manufacturers’ Association of Southcentral Pennsylvania.

  • Was co-chair of MANTEC’s Sustainability Continuous Improvement Team.
  • Was a member of Penn State University’s Capital Region Outreach Council.
  • Was member / past-chairman of the Pennsylvania Environmental Assistance Network’s steering committee.
  • Was member of the Technology Council of Central Pennsylvania and co-chair of their Environmental Committee.
  • Was a member of the NIST MEP Environmental, Safety, Health & Energy (ESHE) Working Group and its sub-committee on Clean Manufacturing, including environmental management systems and ISO 14001. Helped to develop the Clean Manufacturing methodology while a member and as a subcontractor for the entity that received the NIST MEP grant to do this work.
  • Was chairman of a food processing industry task force and member of a second at Penn State University that jointly won the Vice President’s Award for Customer Service, 2001.
  • Was Consortium Leader for the Lancaster County Workforce Investment Board’s Food Manufacturers Training Consortium. Coordinated training opportunities for Consortium members.
  • Have chaired and participated on various industry and Penn State University committees and task forces, most to address environmental, sustainability and technical issues.
  • Was president and vice president of one youth soccer league, executive vice president of another.
  • Was a board member of a youth soccer club; coached various youth soccer teams during 10 years of coaching.
  • Was a board member / board chair of Camp Joy, a camp for retarded citizens operated by Brain’s House, Inc.
  • Was a member of the Jaycees and was active in the West Chester, PA chapter.
  • Won the 2011 Most Valuable Pollution Prevention Award (MVP2) P2 Champion Award from the National Pollution Prevention Roundtable (NPPR).• Was chairman of a food processing industry task force and member of a second at Penn State University that jointly won the Vice President’s Award for Customer Service, 2001.
  • Was instrumental in PENNTAP winning the Governor’s Award for Environmental Excellence in 1998 and for MANTEC winning the same award in 2000. Wrote both award applications.
  • Wrote a successful award application for Outstanding Project of the Year Award, NAMTAC, 1998; was the top vote recipient; repeated each of the next four years – each project addressed environmental performance.
  • Have chaired and participated on various industry and University committees and task forces, most to address environmental, sustainability and technical issues.
